That Whole Bull By The Horns Thing

After much delay, I finally found some inspiration for the Nomad bedroom in my stockpile of leather swatches from Restoration Hardware. Note that the platform bed (sans the headboard) is made by Pepper of MitchyMooMiniatures. I still need to get a proper mattress for it but am faking it here with my paper sheets and swatches. The white drawers on the side of this bed open and there is a cute perfumed blanket stowed inside--which I'll showcase at a later date. It's important to note that judging by the scent of the perfumed blanket, Pepper apparently smells quite lovely--in case you ever wondered. Chuckles!

The leather bedding and leather rug gave birth to the cork buffalo bench. I know. Go figure. I'm not a wine drinker but I have a suspect amount of corks and Corkers animal kits. I try to put them to good use.

The Goods: bed is Pepper of MitchyMooMiniatures; headboard is Home Depot; pillows are Minimodernistas; leaning shelf is Peter Tucker; Buffalo cork bench is Monkey Business; art is Home Depot; all accessories are Mattel, AG Minis, Restoration Hardware, Lundby, Re-Ment, X10NY and MGAE

  1. Love all the wood tones! Is that a wood thingie from potpourri on the bench next to the green and purple poufs? (hope you don't mind my asking) I was going to do that very thing.

    1. Thanks Daphne!
Yes, it is a potpourri piece. Ha ha! I am notorious for buying boxes of the stuff just to get one or two interesting pieces out and then donating the rest to coworkers. Sometimes I have to wash the pieces to remove the fragrance though.

  2. Um, I vaguely remember wrapping a white foam matress with that bed *scratches head* or did I use it as packing? =0/

Interesting use of the shelves to overcome curved walls. I never considered the interior shape.
I love all of the different woods used in the scene. Are the wall panels samples?

    1. OH NO! I don't remember a foam mattress but my eyes were...uh..."watering". Chuckles! I still have the foam pieces so I'll go look through them this evening. The curved walls do offer up some challenges--anything against the wall has to be tacked or floated. The wall panels are floor tile samples from the hardware store. I try to grab a stack whenever I visit. BTW, did I mention that I love the bed? A really cool person made it...

Ha ha! I have read those books. I actually don't remember how they described the District 13 bedrooms. Now I have to go take another look...
