Happy Holidays 2013

Happy Holidays!

My apologies for the long absence. Life is busy, busy, busy!--shout out to Prof. Hinkle and Frosty. I would not have put this scene together if it were not for the Poang chair that Pepper of MitchyMooMiniatures gifted me. She's awesome. You already know that. Anyway, the scene above is my 15-minute attempt to burn through some "Scandinavian, modern country Christmas, ski lodge" inspiration...It's a failure in my opinion, but instead of scrapping it as I often do, I'm showing it here. A toast to the spirit of "flaws and all!" Smiles.

Thanks to everyone who sends the nicest emails and reaches out. I appreciate this community of collectors, bloggers, designers, artisans, architects, interior decorators, toy enthusiasts and the "I'm just browsing" folks. Wishing you all an incredible 2014.

  1. Think you nailed it with the Scandinavian theme. In fact I'm sure I saw this room in IKEA the other day ;0)
Wishing you and yours much love, peace and happiness for 2014 xx

  2. Oh what a beautiful scene! I'm so glad you didn't scrap it! I really like the colours, it all looks very warm and inviting. And the stove! It's perfect with all the little logs. I'm beginning to feel like you're found a secret magical miniature Ikea store ;)
Have yourself a Merry Christmas and great holiday season too!

    1. I am so surprised that you guys dig it, but I'm very glad that you do! Ha! Thanks Penelope, I probably say this every year, but I will try to post more scenes in the future. It looks like I should start posting scenes that I don't like too. Best to you!

    1. True, it is past time to meet up. And what excuse do I have? I mean, I basically live "down the street" from you. I'm definitely down for a shindig! And thanks, lady!

  8. Merry Merry, Brae!
Thanks! Ha ha! It just didn't come out how I envisioned. Perhaps I should have taken more time. I guess we'll just call me "crazy"---but don't let anyone get it twisted because I'm definitely the harmless crazy, man.

    1. Thanks Troy! well...we know I never make anything. I'm the uncrafty peep who works in a world of crafts. Mini Dork tipped us off on the mini deer heads earlier in 2013 = http://bit.ly/1a1ifYJ

  10. Regards from Scandinavia, Finland. You have managed quite nicely with this, althoug most Finnish people have their ski lodges made of wood, logs I mean ;) But anyway, this interior looks absolutely beautiful and very modern which I like very, very much! Happy New Year and waiting for your new projetcts.

Well I guess I have to completely backtrack on my "fail" statement. Ha ha! Maybe my New Year's resolution needs to be "have more confidence." Smiles. I'll do my best to post some new stuff this year. Happy New Year to you too!
