Quick Note About Cubebot Challenge

I am thrilled to have won the Cubebot Challenge hosted by Call of the Small and AREAWARE. To be honest, I was very surprised to win. I had placed my bet on two others for the win. I guess this is one time where being wrong is totally acceptable. Ha!

I really enjoyed seeing what everyone else created with the Cubebot. You can see all the entries on Flickr. I applaud all the participants. I rarely enter contests because with my crazy life and hectic schedule, I'm struggling enough to maintain this pathetic thing I call a "blog" which leaves very little time to commit to the deadlines of contests and challenges. But I'm very glad that I dove in on this one. I went through several configurations of Cubebot before settling on the fireplace. Let me take a moment to credit my oldest child because they built most of these for me.
These chairs are so Game of Thrones, ey?
I started to use this table as a dining buffet or kitchen island. I filled the sides with wine bottles, but it wasn't right in the end. I might revisit. Shrug.

Also, I know it has been FOREVER since I have posted any new scenes. I have about 8 scenes started and not finished. I'm hoping to carve out some time to drop some Mini Modern love before Christmas. Stay tuned...

  6. It's a beautiful scene. Don't give up on your blog. It's such an inspiration and source of information as well. Show us some of your scenes in-the-making. It's at least as interesting to watch how they develop as seeing the final product.
Congratulations to your boys. They must be very proud of their win! This is something that will stay with them all their lives, how they shared their Mom's hobby and helped her win a competition.

    1. Thanks Modernist Molly,
I have thought about doing the "scenes-in-the-making", but my track record has proven that I'd be showing you half-built scenes that I never finish. I think it would be so rude of me. Ha! I'm trying to figure out how to coordinate my hobby and my life so that I can post more often. I have so many miniature goodies that I'd like to showcase. I'm trying. I'm trying. we'll see what happens here... I appreciate your note!

    1. Thanks Mini Dork!
I'll show you the fireplace when I see you in person. The flames are all digital effects--thanks to my Mr. who donated 2 minutes of his time to my final images. oops! I just realized that I never thanked him in this post...(sorry, Mr.)
