No Bells...Just Whistles

Yes, I had to ditch the bells due to space issues. I'll work them into another scene in the future.  After squeezing in the dining room, there wasn't a place for the bells. Sorry peeps. The process of choosing a dining arrangement was tricky here. I finally settled on comfortable chairs facing the wall of windows and a bench that (1) doesn't obstruct the view, (2) can open up the space when tucked under the table and (3) serves as a good place to set a drink if you happen to be seated in the adjacent lounge chair. I actually hacked together the pendant lamp that I'll refer to as the wasp nest. It's alright. My first wasp nest pendant lamp is a little smaller than the one I ended up using. I took a picture of it so you could see the great shadows it casts on the walls when it is lit.
I know it's a hokey lamp, but the fact that it works makes me feel quite pleased with myself. Yeah, it doesn't take much. Ha! In yo' face, DIY! (DIY laughs...and then feels sorry for me.)

Since this house is currently set up as a bachelor/bachelorette pad or vacation home, it has a simple galley kitchen. The cube that helps divide the space is the 3/4 bathroom. I got this piece from the DHE years ago and regret not getting another one. I typically buy everything in sets of two or three, but dropped the ball on this one.  There's nothing fancy here, just a place for 1:12 folks to potty, wash and groom.

A few peeps wanted to see an exterior shot of the structure. I hope this will do for now. The empty space on the right is where the bedroom will be. I'm planning to work on that this coming weekend. I actually have zero ideas for it--and I'm already itching to scrap this first decor and go with something entirely new. I'll stick it out though...I think. I'll try. I got 10 minutes to myself on Monday and tried to come up with a plan for the bedroom, but all I did was stare at drawers of miniature beds and whistle that tune Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn & John.

The NEW Goods: Dining table and bench are PRD; dining chairs are Reac Japan; plants are Mini Dork; wasp nest pendant lamp is me (what?); sink and fridge are Miele; pantry shelf is Pepper (Mitchy Moo Miniatures); kitchen rug is Paul Smith for Maharam; crockery with utensils is MinisX2; all accessories are Mighty World, Reutter Porzellan, Plan Toys, Re-Ment, AG Minis, Home Depot, Bodo Hennig, Dolls House Emporium, and common hobby store finds.

I love that chair too. I'm in the process of buying up several of them to paint different colors. We'll see if I ever get around to painting them though...

  8. I would love to have a vacation home like this in a wooded area with a small stream of spring water flowing by. Read a few of your great books while relaxing in the blue chair. Maybe drink some of that stuff I see on the shelves with a few snacks. Thank you for sharing this awesome place. Who needs bells when you've got whistles?
