Happy Valentine's Day!
This room started with the card that my Mr. gave to me last year for Valentine's. The heart is made of satin ribbon laced through the cardstock. I added the stag's head and tried to make the room seem cozy modern cabin-esque. Shrug. The table here is one of the Dylan Furniture paper/foam 1:16 pieces by brinca dada. It blends well in 1:12. I actually like how you can see all the joints, folds and connections in this table.
And of course, I have to add some humor...
It's amazing how the simple act of adding a bloody axe to this scene makes it instantly get all Snow White. My Mr. and I chuckled over this realization. Hmm...Maybe the huntsman went through with cutting out Snow White's heart for the evil queen...Maybe Snow White turned the tables on them both--killing the evil queen and the huntsman and keeping the apple and the axe as souvenirs...
Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the craziest mini modern blogger of them all?...Forget I asked.
The Goods: Card art is Papyrus; dining table is brinca dada; Organic Armchairs are Reac; stools are Selecta; fireplace is Playmobil; all accessories are Re-Ment, Mattel, Tim Holtz, DCWV, AG Minis and random ebay and jewelry store finds.
The axe gives it a little creepy vibe. Love the sparkly deer head!
ReplyDeletelol - Great scene, my preference is without the axe!
ReplyDeleteBwahahaha! I laughed out loud. Skip the sappy valentines cards, I'll take your twisted humor any day. LOVE IT Sicko!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I'm going to go through my old card stash to see if there's something there I can use in a similar manner. I did use some scrapbook stickers, though, to make my candy box and banner.
ReplyDeleteHa, the axe is hilarious. I thought how serene and romantic the scene looked until I spotted that. Half expecting to see a still-beating heart in the fruit bowl haha =0)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Snow White lost it when the dwarfs gave her yet another new washtub for Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteFun scene!
Hey Mad For Mod,
ReplyDeleteMe and creepy go well together. Um, wait a minute...
I got the deer head from Icing. I believe it was a ring before I gave it the "pliers treatment". I think you would most likely assault people by accident when worn as a ring. Much better as a dollhouse accessory, ey?
Thanks Troy!
ReplyDeleteI was only going to post the images with the axe. Glad I posted both versions. Ha!
Oh Mini Dork,
ReplyDeleteSICKO? Really?? I was quite normal when we met for coffee a few weeks ago. Granted I slid the Dr. Who dolls across the table like a drug deal but still. Oh my goodness---I just realized that I still have that bag of half-eaten popcorn in my purse! I knew it was smelling like movie theater every time I took out my wallet. Geez...Okay, I'll agree to "weird" only. Smiles.
What up, Angie! (switching up my greetings...)
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed by your DIY on your blog. And I am diggin' the banner. I am still trying to get up enough nerve to build my own structure. I have several kits and they are all gathering dust.
Hey Pepper
ReplyDeleteGlad you like, man! I dug through my collection looking for a heart but could only find brains. I guess I'm more scarecrow than tin man...Ha!
Ha ha, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteI should have thought of that scenario. She was like a maid, wasn't she??! I have always thought the setup for that tale was odd for several reasons, but it just now occurred to me that she was cleaning up after 7 peeps--and singing about it like it was oh so great. I sure don't remember that Kate lady singing...
Doesn't everyone have an extra axe lying around, for those extra special romantic moments??! Nice scene!
ReplyDeleteIf they don't, they really should.
ReplyDeleteSmiles.
Thanks Call Small!
You are so absolutely right about the axe making it instantly Snow White!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I loved the room before, but loved it even more after the story element was added XD
Thanks Heather!
ReplyDeleteHmm...maybe I should look at some more fairy tales...
