Not Quite Tuckered Out

Three-day weekends are awesome! Ya gotta love holidays, man. I forced myself not to do any work over the break. However, I did work out a new mini setup as seen above. I figured that I should at least spend some time with my hobby, right? Smiles. And since I have several Peter Tucker pieces that I haven't used, it's definitely a good time to showcase one of those. You know, I just realized that I have had these PT pieces for almost a year now. I purchased them last year at the Good Sam Showcase in San Jose--which runs again next month. I've already posted how wonderful it was to meet Peter Tucker but I have to reiterate because it's not often that you meet your "heroes" and discover that they are indeed cool people. The sofa above is his work. It's a beauty with wonderful lines and precision cuts. It's light in your hands but very very sturdy. Sigh. Just look at it! Chuckles. Oh! Did I mention that his lovely wife made the cushions and pillows? I can't quite figure out what she stuffed the square pillows with (sand?) but they dimple and crease like 1:1 pillows.

So...what's
going on here in the scene above? You know I don't know. I just run with it. It all started with the Tucker sofa and then I started pulling items from there--heavily inspired by some Far East papers which play nicely with the sofa style. I wish I had a sophisticated way of describing how I put scenes together but I don't. I'm sort of on autopilot most of the time.

The Goods:
Sofa is Peter Tucker; Coffee table is PRD; Chair is Reac; Shelving unit is DHE; Dining table is PRD; Dining chairs are Reac; Dining stools are brinca dada; Art photo in dining room is Henri Cartier-Bresson; All accessories are Re-Ment, Playmobil, Bozart Toys, Mini Dork, Breyer, DCWV and common finds from hobby supply stores.

  5. I love how you get a great sense of perspective in your photo's. You know the hint of another room in the background, leading the eye through. You're gonna tell me it was by accident aren't you? Ha!

  7. Hey Oese,
Thank you. Ya know, you are one of the most inspiring bloggers because you typically churn out rooms daily. I know you are on a bit of a break but you still make me want to work with my hobby more.

  8. Hi Leftcoastmini!
Thank you much. Yeah, the Good Sam show will feature Paris Renfroe and Peter Tucker and Wright Guide Miniatures and more. I'll probably do a post later. I'm gonna be broke after the show. Wait! I'm already broke so nothing to worry about there. I'll probably see you in San Jose...

  9. Thanks Minima,
Yep, it's me playing the same records over and over again. Ha ha! I wanted to work on a bedroom to match this set of scenes but you make me consider switching it up a bit to try something more "loud" and get away from the monotony. Hmm...Smiles

Yes, Tucker is brilliant. I wonder what he will bring to the San Jose show. I wish you could fly out for it. Hey! How did you know that I rock?? Did someone tell you that I was listening to Metallica while putting these scenes together? Ha!Ha! I really was...
