Reac Designer Chair Collection Vol. 6

Since Tarkus posted a comment about new Reac chairs, I've been getting several emails asking if it's true. Yes, I think so--at least I got an "I believe so" confirmation from my supplier. "Supplier"...that sounds like drug issues. Anyway, consider 2-4 cases mine o' mine. Ha! I put in an additional inquiry to Reac Japan to confirm details. Who knows if they will respond. Thanks for looking out for all the modern miniature enthusiasts, Tarkus!

UPDATE 3/19/09:
The Reac Japan company has confirmed that the Vol. 6 chairs will be available in May. They do not currently have plans for a Vol. 7...but they also previously said that they had no plans for a Vol. 6. Hope they keep making these items. I also would love to see other modern minis but guess I should be happy with the chairs.

  1. Thanks for looking into it further. I need to shore up my mini budget, so I will just have to drool until then. Tarkus also referred me to a great resource: Manor House Miniatures. Reac chairs are very well priced (most chairs are 8.99 - 11.99) and there's a only a $2.99 flat shipping rate! Perhaps these new chairs will make it there after they debut :)

  2. Love the daybed and the eames plywood elephants!

I tried halfheartedly yesterday to find pictures, so it's super convenient to get them here - thanks for the sleuthing!

From what I could tell, they are available for pre-order from hobby link japan:

  3. Yep, miniatures are like drugs - they are both very addictive and consuming (to the wallet).

It would be great if this will go into production. Love the Mies daybed ... but unlike you, I will probably wait to see if the individual ones go on ebay.

  4. Thanks Callsmall for the additional Tarkus referral!

Yeah, Altera, I'm all about the daybed too. Hmm, the Hobby Link Japan says 6 pieces...I hope Reac writes me back and confirms. I wonder if the elephants are wood or plastic.

My wallet definitely has an echo in it, Vwong---ha ha! Sadly, therapy is even more expensive...smiles

  5. Great news! There are two items that I want from this set. Collectors are addicts but we stay healthier and happier! funny observation though ^__^ First giggle of the day!

  6. I am just so addicted to these little chairs... I never bought all of the ones I originally wanted, so I've been on a spending binge with dollhouse stuff lately... Stuff for the modern decor house, stuff for my boho house, stuff for the coffee shop, and then I decided to build a house for my niece who will be born in June!

On top of that, I bought 3 pairs of shoes and a new handbag this weekend!

  7. Cool miniature sets of chairs. The elephant chairs and daybed are the best in this collection.

From my understanding, this is a total set of 11 chairs. Found this information from this website: http://www.etradersplace.com/osc/dollhouse-miniature-designer-chairs-p-1212.html?cPath=3_15. It's open now for pre-order.

  8. These chairs are very cool...the only problem is if you are really into exact sizes (ie: one inch equals one foot) you will find these chairs are a bit smaller than 1/12th size. They actually work wonderfully with the action figures from Dr. Who. (Thanks Mini Modern for that idea....I have a complete "party group" now from Dr. Who!!! I am working on a wonderful mid century modern dollhouse I scored from Craigslist which I have adjusted the interior to meet the needs of using these chairs). Still loving your blog!!! Melissa

  9. Hi Melissa!

You can't get away that easy!---where can we see some pictures of your mid-century modern house setup?? I'm interested anyway.

  10. Yes, I will send you pics....give me a few weeks to finish the exterior and the second and third floor (it's a bi-level of course!) and you can post them if you want. I am not sure how to do that except that I could e-mail them to you. I am on facebook but I haven't posted this house yet. I guess I really need to talk to my teenage daughter (I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to posting stuff!!!!) Melissa

  11. eTraders is now offering pre-order for the individual chairs; shipping is still expensive but at least the chairs are reasonably priced at $12-$15. Had to order extra of several that I really like.
