I remember we used to dine out all of the time--before children came into our lives. Our fridge used to be barren except for sodas, water bottles and the occasional takeout box. I attempted to make the fridge in this scene look like that but couldn't quite get it right. Oh well. Shrug.
The scene above has a Lundby couch, Bodo Hennig Table, Voila Toys stools and storage units, Delph Miniatures fridge, Miele microwave and Dollhouse Emporium kitchen island. All of the other accessories are from Re-Ment, Megahouse and assorted action figures. The coliseum art is a scrapbook sticker and the pasta pics are images gathered from the Internet and printed out on photo paper.
I will TRY to keep this blog going into 2009 for the 8 people who think it's interesting--ha ha!
Happy New Year!
Akk! I rely on your blog! Please keep it up! Here I am on New Years eve sneaking away from the party to check it out.
ReplyDeleteThanks to your inspiration, I bought a greenleaf brookwood and am dreaming wonderful mini modern dreams...
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteReally coll room! And THANK YOU for keeping the blog! I read your blog everday and I would be upset if you didn't post anymore. You are Extremely talented. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all. Seriously, I really am not talented, I just push the same miniature furniture around again and again.
Thankyou so much for keeping it going! I love your scenes.
ReplyDeleteSo how do you know there are only 8 interested people out of your total readership?
ReplyDelete;-)
I am so glad you will try to keep the blog going. That's the best gift I got this year! You may not think you are talented But your "furniture pushing" inspires more than just us 8 People. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks again and Happy New Year!
Yes, please keep the blog! It is my absolute favorite.
ReplyDeleteI will TRY to keep this blog going into 2009 for the 8 people who think it's interesting--ha ha!
ReplyDeleteYAY!
I love this room and I really love the fireplace... although if I had one, I'd probably set my place on fire.
Happy New Year!
I am a silent but admiring reader of your blog. I always enjoy your posts, and wish you a happy and creative new year!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you keep your blog going, it's amazing! Happy New Year! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. I don't usually make comments but I visit all the time. Your sence of design is fantastic and you've has inspired me to create my own 1/6 scale house.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Mike
Happy, Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI love this blog. I visit almost everyday. I've become so inspired by your site that I'm going to create my own I/6 scale Eichler inspired house. I would be so sad if you stopped this blog but I understand how much time it must take to keep it going.
Thanks for all the wonderful ideas! Mike
Wow.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all.
That was an unexpected amount of comment and email responses.
Suddenly I feel pressure...and a need to buy a bigger hat. ha ha ha!
Best!
Hello MC and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful to hear that you will keep things going. I live in Santa Monica where modern dollhouse shops/fans are few and far between. This blog serves as my main resource and inspiration.
You are way too modest about your design talent. Count me as one of your many fans who checks in daily.
Best wishes,
Doris N.
Happy New Yr MC! I am relieve to hear that we can look forward to more Mini Moderns in 2009 ... Yay!
ReplyDeleteYes keep on writing your blog! I need it :D :D
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year ;)
Count me in as another lurker who really enjoys the daily mini-visit. My time with my minis is limited these days (hope to get back to them soon). I, too, like to rearrange and try new combinations, so you are allowing me to enjoy my neglected hobby vicariously. Keep up the good work! LSW
ReplyDeletePlease count me amongst the silent majority who loves your blog. I can't tell you how inspirational it's been, and I appreciate the information on sources, too. Happy 2009!
ReplyDeleteI suspect you see that you have 8 subscribers on Bloglines but don't have a stat counter mounted on your blog to show you true readership.
ReplyDeletePut it this way, my readership each day is at least double the number of Bloglines subscribers I have listed. And my stats counter tells me there are a steady trickle of people visiting your blog through my links...
:-)
Count me in. I'm a reader too and hope that you and your great blog enjoy a happy healthy new year 2009 (and more).
ReplyDeleteYou can add at least one more person to the 8 people who read your blog. I visit it several times a month to see what new ideas you've come up with. I love your buildings/rooms/etc. I think most American miniaturists are stuck in Victorian times and its great to see the modern stuff. Keep up the good work. Keep posting - please!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I've been getting the 8 people total from counting the people who regularly comment. You know, I don't have any idea how many people visit this blog. I never really thought about tracking it. I was actually unaware that people subscribe to this blog...Hmm, maybe I'll look into the stats.
ReplyDeleteWe all think you're talented, but then again, you have the coolest stuff, and we just want to come over and play.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspiration and all of the great leads. I have purchased many items from your suggestions and cried over ones that are no longer available.
I'm actually updating my blog tonight because of you.
If you blog it, they will come.
P.S. "Profile Views = 6,567", yeah, definitely more than 8 regulars. :)
She who hesitates is redundant, it seems, but I am another very appreciative silent lurker who's become accustomed to a near-daily fix of Mini Modern. And I am another who follows your links or learns a name from your blog and searches it on eBay. And I am another who has been inspired to collect, arrange and create by your collections, arrangments and creations.
ReplyDeleteApologies for not commenting earlier, but if there were anything I could put on the yes side of the continue-or-not scale for you, I would.
Hoping 2009 brings you the happiness you've brought to 8-plus in 2008, Natalie
P.S. Like Doris N, I live in Santa Monica and can meet in any Starbucks any time my kids are in school.
Man oh man!
ReplyDeleteI'm really surprised by these comments. Thank you all so much.
Best!
Hi MC...
ReplyDeleteLooks like your blog might become a matching service for mini lovers...would like to contact Natalie and meet her to swap mini ideas in dollhouse-deprived Santa Monica. How best shall I do that without causing you too much inconvenience??
Here's an idea....a small but ever so wonderful Modern Dollhouse Show..with vendors who supply only the most modern stuff and an area for us regular folks to display our houses...finished or unfinished.
Doris really wants me to work, doesn't she? ha ha!
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to put something like that together. I'd love to do that but I know I don't have the time to set that up properly due to an all-consuming job and young family.
If you and Natalie organized something, I'd probably fly down.
*You can send your emails to my email and I'll forward them to each of you or Natalie can make her Blogger profile public for Doris to contact her, etc.
Shrug.
More thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'm now contactable by Doris N.
More thanks.

If there is a miniature show caters to modern collectors, I may even fly down from north of the border =) Does anyone know if the Chicago Miniature Show any good for modern collectors? Tks.
ReplyDeleteYou have to keep this blog going because it's a blast! I think your fan base is bigger than 8!
ReplyDelete8!???? you're like some Prophet-O for modern dollhouses... so trust me, there are great many more lurking (like on my site haha)
ReplyDeleteokay--that is so funny! Oh I wish I had Buddah powers!! Modern Dollhouses for everybody!! And a round of drinks!
